these kids, who lived in a tattered shanty at a squatters area in manila, had to wait anxiously for their mother as she tried to make a meager living washing clothes.

amazing shot, you got the emotion just right.

the school i went to in philippines held a program where we went to these kinds of places and helped out a bit, interviewed people and stuff. it really is difficult to swallow the fact that these people live by so little. most have the wrong assumption that these people are here because they're lazy when the fact is that they work their bodies off to earn what we'd call change in our pockets. there's so much we can do, somehow we dont know it all the time.
